How are you staying active in style this Summer? I not only train hard in the gym lifting weights, but also outside the gym by doing yoga, meditation, and various physical activities. I sometimes have no time to change since I’m always on the go and busy. Since I struggle with Leaky Gut Syndrome, I have toned down my workouts at the gym and incorporated more yoga, stretching, grounding and meditation outdoors. I have been enjoying going to the park and just reconnecting with mother nature. I can not tell you how my life has changed ever since I took my workouts outside. I’m more centered, grounded, mindful and present. Not to mention, stress and anxiety free. Remember staying active does not necessarily mean going strictly to the gym. You can stay active by walking at the park, down the street, doing yoga at home or outside, taking your workouts to the park or even walking up and down stairs at home. There are so many ways to stay active nowadays, that you don’t necessarily need to pay for a gym membership. Of course, it all depends on your goals.
I’m also the type of person that is always running up and down and I often have very little time to change attires between activities. I work from home some days and also go to the office. I need something I can wear all day long in and outside the gym and still look good while playing hard. I like looking fresh, stylish and uplifting with my color and pattern choices. Staying Active in Style Workout
Take your workouts to the outside today by implementing the following routine. If you are a busy person struggling to fit in physical activities into your daily life, this is a perfect routine for you! It is easy, fast and convenient. It incorporates stretch movements to help you move your body, Yoga stretches, and glute-building exercises. I also incorporated meditation at the end of my routine to keep you relaxed, mindful and help you reconnect with your inner self.
1. Stretching lower back, hips, and glutes. Sitting on the floor, cross one leg or ankle over the other thigh. Gently press on the thigh as you rotate your body toward the stretching leg. 2 sets x 30 seconds each side.
2. Butterfly Stretch to open up hips. 2 sets x 30 seconds.
3. Ardha Uttanasana or Standing Half Forward Bend. 2 times.
4. Jump Squats. 6-8 sets x 30 seconds.
5. Jump Lunges. 6-8 sets x 30 seconds.
6. Donkey Kickbacks. 6-8 sets x 20 repetitions each leg.
7. Meditation. Depends on your tolerance. I do 20-40 minutes daily.
